The work it's for

Counting stock in a spreadsheet means you find out you're out when a customer asks. This keeps every item against its reorder point, and the moment a count drops to it, a purchase request linked to the item is opened for the usual quantity from the usual supplier and purchasing is told. Purchasing approves, orders and receives, and marking it received adds the quantity to the item's count by itself.
