Employee shift scheduler
Build the week's schedule, publish it, and handle swaps without a group chat.
Free to try with sample data. Sign in with your email and it's added to your workspace, ready to change. Matrixcape Build is in private beta.
The work it's for
Schedules shared as a photo of a whiteboard get missed, and swaps agreed in a group chat never reach the manager. Here the manager builds the week on a calendar and publishes it, and nobody can be booked on two shifts at once; each person is emailed their shifts and reminded the day before. Swaps are asked for with a named colleague and a reason, and when the manager approves, the shift moves to the colleague by itself. Hours and labor cost for the week are worked out as you schedule.
- Publish the week's schedule where everyone can see it
- Remind people of their shifts so fewer are missed
- Approve shift swaps and have the schedule update itself
- Never book the same person on two shifts at once
- Keep an eye on this week's hours and labor cost
Try it. It's working software.

Make it yours.
Every template starts clean. After you customize it, change the look in Design or just ask: your colors and logo, fonts, corners, how compact it is, a board or a calendar, light or dark.
Change how it works, not just how it looks.
The steps, who approves what, the rules, the reminders and the emails it sends are yours to change. Say it the way you'd tell someone on your team. You see each change before your team does, and your team keeps using the live version until you publish.
Changes you can ask for
- “Ask staff to confirm each published shift, and tell the manager the day before about shifts nobody confirmed.”
- “Flag shifts over 8 hours and show overtime hours for the week.”
- “Let staff mark themselves unavailable on certain days, with the manager's approval.”
- “Make it playful.”
- “Show the schedule as a board by position.”
One app in your Matrixcape workspace, not a separate subscription.
Start with one problem. Build the rest when you need it: every app you add lives in the same workspace, with one sign-in for your team. The same app works for a retail store, a hotel front desk, a call center too.
Customize this uses no build credits.
